About R J Hillhouse

Dr. Hillhouse has run Cuban rum between East and West Berlin, smuggled jewels from the Soviet Union and slipped through some of the world’s tightest borders. From Uzbekistan to Romania, she's been followed, held at gunpoint and interrogated. Foreign governments and others have pitched her for recruitment as a spy. (They failed.)

A former professor and Fulbright fellow, Dr. Hillhouse earned her Ph.D. in political science at the University of Michigan. Her latest novel, OUTSOURCED (Forge Books) is about the turf wars between the Pentagon and the CIA and the privatization of national security.

Dr. Hillhouse is an expert on national security outsourcing. Her controversial work has twice elicited a formal response by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence--the only times that office has ever publicly responded to the writings of a private citizen.

She is a regular media guest and available for interviews.

If you out me, I will run you down in a Big Island shopping center parking lot---again. For some reason, I never knew you attended Michigan. Thought your PH.D. was from Tumbleweed Tech or something. Shows how much I pay attention to your profile etc.!!! My lovely and talented Mrs. informed me you were a Wolverine. Is it true that there are no Wolverines in Michigan?

Hey what kind of a EOD dude are you, running women down on their way to Starbucks instead of using explosives? And for the record, you didn't get me on either pass, even in my pre-caffeinated state!

You know, a true friend would've used explosives on my truck during the height of book publicity instead of trying to run me down with a little oh-so-manly rental car...

BTW, do you know the current going rate for an EOD guy in Iraq? Has the rate remained stable lately?

I think it has stayed about the same. Depending on quals. from 150K to 180K for techs. Mgt. is a little more. Not enough to get my interest.

With per diem, a team leader here can make 140K. Of course, they spend it all on fast cars, booze and women!
