AeroVironment Completes Acquisition of Tomahawk Robotics, Expands AI and Autonomy Capabilities

AeroVironment, a leading provider of unmanned aircraft systems, announced the completion of its acquisition of Tomahawk Robotics. The purchase of the artificial intelligence-enabled robotic control and integrated communications systems developer was finalized less than a month after AeroVironment signed a definitive agreement for the transaction worth $120 million.

The integration of Tomahawk Robotics into AeroVironment’s small unmanned aircraft systems business unit will allow the company to further leverage AI and autonomy in its platforms, providing enhanced solutions for operational needs.

Tomahawk Robotics brings its flagship AI-enhanced and open architecture common control system, Kinesis, to AeroVironment. Kinesis is already deployed by the Department of Defense and other industry customers, offering a powerful tool to better equip and prepare warfighters on the battlefield.

AeroVironment plans to extend Tomahawk Robotics’ solutions to its existing customer base and introduce them to its network of more than 55 allied nations. This expansion will further solidify AeroVironment’s standing as a leading provider of advanced unmanned systems.
