Perceptual Robotics Secures Investment to Expand its AI-Enabled Wind Turbine Inspection

Perceptual Robotics, a company specializing in AI-enabled robotics for wind turbine inspections, has successfully completed its largest investment round. The investment comes from Susten, a firm focused on energy transition, and will facilitate the expansion of Perceptual Robotics into new regions and product lines.

With this investment, Perceptual Robotics aims to further develop its operations and grow as a business. CEO Kostas Karachalios expressed his delight at bringing Susten onboard, emphasizing that the investment will bolster the company’s capabilities, allow for the expansion of the team, and facilitate market expansion.

This funding round follows a series of successful rounds secured by Perceptual Robotics earlier in the year. Led by One Planet Capital, the previous investment round saw the participation of international investors such as Metavallon VC, TSP Ventures, Brookstreet Equity Partners, and Lstone Capital. These investments have enabled Perceptual Robotics to penetrate markets in southeast Asia, North America, and South America, and expand their team.

In addition to the investment, Perceptual Robotics has added Chrys Vakla, the deputy CEO of Susten, to its board. Vakla’s experience and industry understanding will contribute to the company’s technological advancements, advancing the boundaries of robotics and automation in wind turbine inspections.

Perceptual Robotics offers fully automated wind turbine inspections using its Dhalion drone and AI technology. The drone operates autonomously without the need for a human pilot and utilizes AI-driven image processing to identify blade damage. The inspection results are then integrated into a web-based tool that manages the maintenance and inspection of a fleet of wind turbines. This innovative approach significantly minimizes downtime, enhances safety, and reduces maintenance costs.

Perceptual Robotics’ latest investment and expansion efforts are expected to position the company as a leader in the field of AI-enabled drone inspections, driving the optimization of wind energy generation and ensuring the longevity of wind turbine assets.
