Milrem Robotics, a leading developer of robotics and autonomous systems in Europe, has revealed its latest innovation, the THeMIS Combat unmanned ground vehicle (UGV). The unveiling took place at the Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI 2023) exhibition in London. The THeMIS Combat is equipped with the HALCON HUNTER 2-S swarming loitering munition, which is produced by HALCON, a regional leader in guided weapons systems.
The THeMIS Combat UGV is designed to support dismounted infantry units and offers advanced capabilities. It is equipped with Milrem’s Intelligent Functions Kit (MIFIK), which enables autonomous mobility, obstacle detection and avoidance, point-to-point navigation, and follow-me capabilities.
One of the key features of the THeMIS Combat is its ability to be maneuvered alongside the HALCON HUNTER 2-S drones. This enables units to approach enemy lines more closely, allowing for faster engagement with nearby targets or the ability to venture farther behind enemy lines to identify suitable targets. The use of robotic systems for such tasks is considerably faster and more efficient compared to manned units.
The HALCON HUNTER 2-S is an autonomous unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). It is equipped with advanced artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities that allow for coordinated missions in a swarm. The drone can autonomously follow a flight plan, collaborate with other drones in the swarm, and loiter while searching for and classifying targets. Once a target is identified, a human operator can engage the target.
The THeMIS Combat, along with other solutions from Milrem Robotics, can be seen at the DSEI exhibition.
