The MSG Sphere in Las Vegas is set to take technology and entertainment to the next level with the introduction of Aura, the world’s most advanced humanoid robot. Aura, developed by Sphere Entertainment, will permanently reside at the arena and greet guests in the venue’s grand atrium. The robot will have lifelike facial expressions and mobility, creating a fascinating and immersive experience for visitors.
Unlike traditional fortune teller robots, Aura has voice storing recognition and can focus on one person speaking directly in front of her. With the use of artificial intelligence, Aura will continue to learn about humans through guest interactions, slowly evolving to enhance the overall experience. Human lab technicians will accompany the robots to provide additional information and storytelling about humanity’s history of innovation.
Apart from greeting guests, Aura will also provide assistance by offering directions within the venue, sharing details about performances, and answering questions about the Sphere’s engineering, technology, and creative mission. Additionally, Aura will serve as the Sphere’s brand ambassador, managing digital platforms and social channels.
The MSG Sphere opens to the public on September 29 with a series of U2 concerts, followed by the premiere of a 360-degree experience titled “Postcard From Earth,” directed by Darren Aronofsky. The immersive show will be the first Sphere Experience, showcasing the capabilities of the 160,000 square foot display plane.
The introduction of Aura and other technological advancements at the MSG Sphere demonstrate the arena’s commitment to creating a unique and futuristic entertainment experience for visitors. As technology continues to evolve, it is exciting to see how robots like Aura will shape the future of live entertainment.
