Nauticus Robotics, Inc. has announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with MMA Offshore Limited to develop an integrated service offering for more cost-efficient and environmentally friendly maintenance of subsea infrastructures in the Asia-Pacific region. Nauticus Robotics is a developer of autonomous robots that use artificial intelligence for data collection and intervention services for the ocean economies. MMA Offshore is a global provider of high-specification vessels and comprehensive marine and subsea services.
The partnership between Nauticus Robotics and MMA Offshore will allow the integration of Nauticus’ autonomous robot, Aquanaut, with MMA Offshore’s services. Aquanaut’s machine intelligence and supervised autonomy capabilities enable the use of smaller service vessels that were previously not utilized for inspection, maintenance, and repair (IMR) of subsea infrastructures. By combining their capabilities, Nauticus Robotics and MMA Offshore can offer a more cost-effective solution compared to conventional methods.
This partnership with MMA Offshore is part of Nauticus Robotics’ strategic global expansion plans. The company recently announced the deployment of Aquanaut in Brazil to service Petrobras assets and the opening of operating bases in Stavanger, Norway, and Aberdeen, Scotland. Nicolaus Radford, the founder and CEO of Nauticus Robotics, states that the partnership with MMA Offshore provides a significant opportunity for Nauticus to continue expanding its reach and international customer base.
MMA Offshore is also excited about the partnership, as it will allow the integration of Nauticus’ leading autonomous robotic and AI software technology into its subsea services. Tom Radic, Executive General Manager Subsea at MMA Offshore, believes that this partnership will provide their clients with access to the latest autonomous and machine learning technology to meet their subsea requirements.
Overall, this MOU between Nauticus Robotics and MMA Offshore paves the way for a more efficient and environmentally friendly approach to subsea infrastructure maintenance in the Asia-Pacific region.
