A new Amazon Robotics Fulfillment Center, named CHATHSAV4, has opened its doors in Chatham County, Georgia, bringing faster package delivery to customers in the Southeast region. This state-of-the-art facility is the first of its kind in Chatham County and the third in the state. The center employs approximately 4,000 robots that work alongside human associates to ensure efficiency in package handling and delivery.
Governor Brian Kemp highlighted the benefits of working alongside these robots. He emphasized that the integration of technology into business operations leads to increased efficiency, higher wages, and better benefits for workers. These advancements are aimed at making work easier and more manageable for associates.
Mauricio Garcia, the General Manager at the center, explained that the primary goal of utilizing robotics is to improve efficiency and provide better service to customers. As a customer-obsessed company, Amazon continuously looks for ways to meet and exceed customer expectations. The use of robotics allows associates to fulfill orders quicker, resulting in increased growth for the company.
The opening of this fulfillment center not only brings technological advancements to Chatham County but also creates job opportunities for the local community. Port Wentworth, where the center is located, is one of the fastest-growing cities in the state.
To support its expansion and meet the growing demand, the center is initiating a hiring event on Friday, September 22. If you are interested in joining the team, the center is located at 800 Pine Meadow Drive in Port Wentworth.
