Chill Out Invites Students to Join Award-Winning Robotics Team

Chill Out, an award-winning student-led robotics team from Mountlake Terrace High School, is inviting all high school students in the Edmonds School District to join their team. With a focus on the FIRST Robotics Competition, Chill Out is offering an information session for new members to learn more about the team and the opportunities available.

The team, which recently had a successful season, winning two events and qualifying for the World Championships, is excited to build on their momentum. Chill Out offers workshops in various areas such as manufacturing and design, marketing/graphic design, communication, and company sponsorships. They aim to provide an experience that goes beyond robotics, giving students a taste of running their own business.

One of the key aspects of Chill Out is the support provided by volunteer mentors. These mentors are industry professionals who have expertise in areas such as engineering, programming, product management, finance, leadership, and more. They help guide and teach students who have little to no experience in robotics.

The team typically meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with more frequent meetings from January to April during the build and competition season. Chill Out also offers sponsorship opportunities for local businesses who believe in supporting programs like FIRST Robotics.

If you are interested in joining Chill Out or want to learn more, attend their new member information session on Saturday, Sept. 23 from noon-2 p.m. at Mountlake Terrace High School. For sponsorship inquiries, you can contact them at [email protected].
