Stride K12 is excited to announce the 2024 K12 Robotics Competition, calling on students across the nation to unleash their Robo-Rivalry. As technology continues to advance, the impact of artificial intelligence on our daily lives becomes increasingly evident. Competitions like these give students a fun way to learn about technology and competitive skills while gaining a head start on a promising career as future innovators.
The competition is open to all students in grades 4–12, whether they are enrolled at K12-powered schools or any other school in the U.S. Teams of 2 to 3 members, led by an instructor who can be a parent, guardian, teacher, or other adult, will participate. Instructors will receive training materials and access to robotics software to guide their teams effectively throughout the competition.
To cover the cost of Cogmation software, instructor training, and access to the K12 Robotics competitions, there is a low entry fee of $40 per student or team. The competition consists of three virtual rounds, and the top 18 semi-finalists will compete in person in June 2024. Winners will be awarded prizes in six categories, with the team achieving the highest score in each grade band and skill level receiving a trophy and prize.
The competition is divided into three grade bands: 4–6, 7–9, and 10–12. Each band has two skill levels: intermediate and advanced. This allows students to choose the appropriate level based on their expertise and experience. Stride will provide training sessions to equip instructors with the knowledge and skills necessary to guide their teams successfully through the challenges.
In addition to the K12 Robotics Competition, Stride offers a variety of enrichment programs to ignite students’ interests, including national art competitions, cookoffs, environmental innovation challenges, and creative storytelling through photography.
Registration for the competition is now open to all students nationwide. To learn more about the competition schedules, fees, technology requirements, and other information, please visit https://enrichment.k12.com/.
