Watertown Rotary Club Supports Watertown High School Robotics Team

The Watertown Rotary Club recently demonstrated its commitment to education and the advancement of science and technology by presenting a generous donation to the Watertown High School Black Magic Robotics Team #237. The check was presented during the club’s luncheon at Hawk Ridge Winery on August 16.

The Robotics Club at Watertown High School aims to inspire students in the fields of science and technology. Under the guidance of dedicated volunteers, students are encouraged to design, build, and compete with remote control robots. This hands-on experience fosters critical thinking skills, teamwork, public speaking abilities, and knowledge of manufacturing, CAD (computer-aided design), and electrical circuits.

In addition to their robotic endeavors, the team actively takes part in various events in the community. They participate and volunteer in the Memorial Day parade, Bethlehem Fair, and STEM nights at local schools, among many others. These outreach activities allow the team to inspire others and share their passion for science and technology, while also giving back to the community.

The Watertown Rotary Club, a service organization dedicated to making a positive impact, recognized the importance of supporting the Robotics Team in achieving its goals. By providing financial support, the club hopes to contribute to the team’s success and facilitate the continued growth of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education in the community.
