Ministry of Education Trains Teachers in Robotics to Enhance Literacy Program

The Ministry of Education is taking steps to strengthen its Literacy and Robotics Programme by providing training to teachers from pilot schools in Regions Two, Three, Nine, and Ten. The first training workshop, specifically for Grade Four teachers, commenced yesterday and will conclude tomorrow. Seventeen schools from Regions Two and Three are participating in the workshop, which is being held at the National Centre for Educational Resource Development (NCERD).

The objective of the training workshop is to enhance the teachers’ capacity in the field of robotics. The participating teachers have been given a thorough introduction to the robotics kit, equipping them with the necessary skills to implement the Literacy and Robotics Programme effectively.

The Ministry of Education recognizes the importance of incorporating robotics into the curriculum to promote literacy skills among students. By integrating robotics, students are engaged in hands-on learning experiences, fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. The Literacy and Robotics Programme aims to provide students with a well-rounded education that prepares them for the future demands of the workplace.

Through the training workshop, teachers will acquire the knowledge and skills needed to support students in their exploration of robotics. By incorporating robotics into classroom activities, teachers can create an environment that encourages collaboration and innovation, ultimately enhancing the overall learning experience.

The Ministry of Education is committed to providing quality education and opportunities for growth to students across the country. By investing in teacher training and equipping them with the necessary tools, such as robotics, the Ministry continues to promote innovative teaching practices that will benefit students in their educational journey.
