A group of eight consortium members, including Auburn University, Bounce Imaging, Charles River Analytics, Inc., DPI LLC, KEF Robotics Inc., Lockheed Martin, Persistent Systems LLC, and Raytheon BBN, have come together to form the National Advanced Mobility Consortium (NAMC). The consortium aims to develop advanced technology that combines robotics and artificial intelligence to enhance a platoon’s performance on the battlefield.
The NAMC is a collaboration between more than 500 innovative organizations, including academia, nonprofits, and traditional and non-traditional defense contractors. These organizations bring specific expertise in developing manned and unmanned autonomy-enabled Ground Vehicle Systems and related technologies for US military personnel on the front lines.
The consortium’s latest project, called the 10X24 initiative, will begin integration efforts in October of 2023 and is set to conclude with a final demonstration in September 2024. The Ground Vehicle Robots (GVR) group, under the US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) US Army Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC), is funding the proposal.
By leveraging the collective knowledge and resources of its members, NAMC aims to bridge the gap between the Department of Defense (DoD) and organizations capable of completing high-priority government projects. This collaboration ensures efficiency, effectiveness, and victory for the US military.
