Vention and Universal Robots Introduce Coordinated Motion Technology

Vention, the company behind the cloud-based Manufacturing Automation Platform (MAP), has collaborated with Universal Robots to develop Coordinated Motion, a breakthrough in robotic control. This technology enables synchronized motion control across six robot joints and a single external linear axis, allowing for precise Tool Center Point (TCP) trajectory execution through multiple waypoints.

Coordinated Motion offers Vention and Universal Robots customers a seamless way to streamline their operations and enhance their applications. By integrating this technology, users can optimize their automated systems’ cycle time, maintain a constant TCP, and track the TCP to improve efficiency and throughput.

The collaboration between Vention and Universal Robots has resulted in multiple solutions for various applications. Coordinated Motion can be integrated with horizontal and vertical 7th axes, as well as rotary positioners, expanding its utility and adding value to automation solutions.

Anik Roy Trudel, VP of Product Line Management at Vention, expressed excitement about the new coordinated motion software developed in collaboration with Universal Robots. He emphasized the companies’ commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions that streamline operations and enhance productivity. Coordinated Motion will be available to Vention and Universal Robots users within the next six months.

Vention is known for its digital manufacturing automation platform, which allows clients to design, automate, order, and deploy automated equipment directly from their web browsers. The company, headquartered in Montreal with offices in Berlin and Boston, has received numerous industry recognitions, including the Deloitte 2022 Technology Fast 50, Report on Business Canada’s top growing company, and Best Workplace for professional development.
