Wageningen University & Research (WUR) has recently undergone a strategic rebranding to better reflect its core mission and multidisciplinary expertise. The Agro Food Robotics programme at WUR is now officially known as ‘Vision + Robotics.’ This new name aligns with the team’s vision and goals as they continue to lead advancements in the fields of computer vision, robotics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
The Vision + Robotics programme at WUR brings together a diverse team of technological experts from various domains within WUR, including marine, livestock, agriculture, horticulture, and food. By combining their collective knowledge and skills, the team aims to tackle the challenges and opportunities in this rapidly evolving field.
“In the past 7 years, the programme has expanded both in terms of team size and research projects. We receive research projects not only from agriculture and food but also from livestock and fisheries. This rebranding captures the essence of our programme more effectively,” explained Erik Pekkeriet, the programme manager of Vision + Robotics.
To further solidify its position as a leading research partner for high-tech solutions in the WUR research domains, Vision + Robotics has also launched a new content platform, visionrobotics.eu. This platform serves as a hub for knowledge sharing and aims to keep industrial and business partners, researchers, and the wider community up to date with the latest developments, insights, and research in the fields of computer vision, robotics, machine learning, and AI.
Overall, Wageningen University & Research’s rebranding as Vision + Robotics reflects its commitment to cutting-edge technologies and its strong link with agri-food. Through their multidisciplinary approach and the launch of their new content platform, the team aims to foster collaboration, innovation, and advancements in the field.
